THE PITTSBURGH STEELERS
The Pittsburgh Steelers were founded in 1933. Their original team name was the Pittsburgh Pirates. Their name switched to the Steelers in the late1930s. The owner was Art Rooney. His first Super Bowl win was 1974 and the coach behind it all was Chuck Noll.

They would later go on to
win three more in 1975, 1978, and 1979.
The Steelers had claimed the 70Õs. After Dan Rooney, his sons took over
the franchise: Dan Rooney and his four other brothers.

The Steelers, after the 70Õs, had made the playoffs and been to a
Super Bowl, but never won. They were in a drought in the 1980Õs. In 1994 Bill
Cowher was hired to change the team around. He won numerous AFC Championships
and made it to Super Bowl 30 but couldnÕt win. Finally the Steelers, under Bill
Cowher, won Super Bowl 40. It was the Steelers 5th championship and
CowhersÕ first Super Bowl win.
After Cowher, the Steelers hired a new
coach:

Mike Tomlin. He
is the youngest coach in the NFL.
After just 2 seasons Mike Tomlin Made it to and won Super Bowl 43 in
2009. Some of the most historic plays in NFL were made in Super Bowl by James
Harrison and Santonio Holmes. Santonio HolmesÕ catch was the game winning catch
in Super Bowl 43. James HarrisonÕs Interception return was before half time and
